Christmas Countdown 9 - Death Star

Another of RTD's Christmas icon subversions was the Christmas Star. In The Runaway Bride, this became the death-dealing Webstar of the Racnoss Queen, which attacked late night shoppers in London. It was blown out of the sky by the army on the orders of Secretary of Defence Harold Saxon - who turned out to be the Master. This was the first occasion we heard of Saxon.
Scientists debate what the star which the biblical Wise Men followed might have been. The most popular thought at the moment is that it was a supernova. There was a comet recorded in China and India in 5 BC, and Halley's Comet passed in 12 BC. Another possibility is a conjunction of the planets Saturn and Jupiter, of which there were three around this time.
